Inaugural Catherine Flon Honors Exhibition Celebrates Revolutionary Women in Buffalo
Buffalo, NY – March 18, 2025 –In a powerful tribute to end Women's History Month, fine arts photographer, Yves-Richard Blanc is back with a new exhibition opening for the inaugural "Catherine Flon Honors". This event, celebrating the legacy of remarkable and revolutionary women who are shaping the Buffalo community, will take place on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Hunt Art Gallery, located at 403 Main St. Suite 105, Buffalo NY 14203.
The exhibition is inspired by Catherine Flon (1772-1831), a Haitian seamstress, patriot, and national heroine. Flon, a true creative spirit, embodied strength and fearless innovation and is renowned for sewing the first Haitian flag. She remains a powerful symbol of the Haitian Revolution and Haitian independence, holding a place of honor in Haitian history.
Haitian immigrant Yves-Richard Blanc has chosen Catherine Flon as the inspiration for this annual tribute.
